series memory verse

Here’s our new memory verse for the next four weeks, what an awesome verse to help your kids memorize and talk through as we head in to the Christmas season!

We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all.

  ~ Isaiah 53:6

talking about isaiah’s call

This past Sunday two things stood out to us in our lesson time as we went through Isaiah 6:

  1. Isaiah recognized God’s holiness and his own position as a sinner (6:5-7)
  2. In response to God’s grace and call, Isaiah took action (6:8)

We talked together about our need for Jesus, the One who cleanses us of our sins. And then we talked about what we do when we know and trust in Jesus to save us. Do we keep it a secret? No! We take the awesome message of the One who saves to our family, our friends, our neighbours, our world.

As parents, aunts, uncles, grandparents, teachers, leaders, disciples of Jesus: it is our job to be taking the message of Jesus to the world around us. And we need to demonstrate it to our kids – let them see us and hear us talking about Jesus. Let us train and equip them, that when the day comes that God asks of them “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” they might respond: “Here I am! Send me.” (6:8)
