Community Group Discussion Questions

For the Week of September 16, 2018

Opening

What stood out to you from Sunday’s message?

Summary

As we continue our Gospel Culture series today we are looking at how a gospel-shaped church reads the Bible. Lots of people claim to be biblical, but what do we mean by that? We want to be a church that pores over God’s word, searches its riches and delights in it. We want to be a church that is always growing and being transformed by God through his Word.

Discussion Questions

1. Read Psalm 119 together. It should take about 15 minutes and would be a valuable use of your time together.

2. As you read Psalm 119, what repeated themes and ideas were most prominent? Were there any that surprised you?

3. What are some ways that the Bible is misused? Give some examples and why those uses are wrong or deficient.

4. What would you say to the person that says we worship the Bible when we should be worshipping God?

5. What advice would you have for others who want to read the Bible well and be changed by it? What have you found helpful?
