What stood out to you from Sunday’s message?

Summary

Read Colossians 4:2-4

A gospel culture makes a praying community. We want to be a church that prays together with humility, gratitude, and expectancy. Praying together is a sign of our understanding of the gospel, showing the grace we have received and our belief that it is God who transforms lives. So a church that is shaped by the gospel will be a church that prays together.

Discussion Questions

2. In what ways is prayer easy? In what ways have we made prayer hard? How do we make prayer a priority as we suffer from “hurry sickness”?

3. What are the many ways that our adoption as sons and daughters of God should shape the way that we pray?

4. What are the different types of prayer (beyond petition) and how can we give attention to each in our personal and corporate prayers?

5. What role does prayer play in ministry and outreach? What might happen if we all committed to praying for gospel opportunities?

6. What is one or two ways that we can grow as a group in how we pray for each other?
