What stood out to you from Sunday’s message?
Read Romans 9:1-10:4
We deeply value our own choices and freedom and often feel that God needs to limit his freedom in order to serve ours. But Paul insists that God is free to choose as he sees fit. His sovereign choice is based on his own will, not our worthiness, and is motivated by a desire to display his own glory.
What is God’s ultimate purpose and priority? How does a right understanding of God’s purpose explain his actions?
On what is God’s election based? What motivates it?
There is certainly an element of mystery involved in God’s election. What attitude should we adopt regarding this doctrine? (see vv.20-21)
Does your view of God limit God’s freedom to act how he pleases?
If our salvation is completely an act of God’s mercy, not based on our worthiness, how should we view and respond to God? Does this change the way you view your worship and relationship with God?
