What stood out to you from Sunday’s message?

Summary

Read Romans 8.31-39

Life will bring troubles of many kinds to us. Some will face cancer, tragedy and loss. Others may face persecution and opposition. In the troubles of life we can begin to wonder if God can really be trusted. Is God really for us? Does he still love us? Paul writes to show that no matter what we face, we can be confident that God’s love is greater still.

  2. How does the cross (v.32, 34) give us confidence to trust God with our future?

  3. What is a situation or challenge that led you to doubt that God was still for you?

  4. How can the various troubles that we face reveal the idols of our heart? I.e. how does suffering or loss show us what we value more than Christ?

  5. Do you ever feel like God’s love for you fluctuates with your obedience? On what is God’s love for you based?
